Then the storm hit. Literally. A flood destroyed our home, and we lost everything. I can remember standing in the rubble housing was an unrecognizable mess in front of me, holding a single family picture in my hand, and thinking to myself, " This is it. This is what climate change looks like." And in that moment in a pile of rubble, ahh I can feel it, my fire ignited. 🔥

I worked three jobs putting myself through school and studying renewed energy by candlelight - which was abundant without consistent power. I cried over textbooks, cried over failed tests, cried and wanted to give up - until I met Dr. Chen, a particular professor who recognized the fire in me. She taught me that energy is not just watts and volts, it is about people! It is about giving families like mine a chance. 💪

Today, I am a Renewable Energy Consultant, but in reality, I am just the girl next door who refuses to let the world stay dark. I dance on solar farms, geek out on wind turbines, and I believe every rooftop can be a power plant. 🌞💡
