From trash to thermonuclear: my journey. 🗑️ → 🌍

I grew up in a favela where the only fusion was the fusion of literally making-a-living-and-struggling-to-survive. All while my mother worked three jobs to keep a roof over my head (which meant electricity, when we had it). I'd sit for hours looking at the blinking light, thinking to myself that it would be really nice if someone could just fix it. When I was 12, I stole a physics textbook from a dumpster (sorry, not sorry), and I used that abused book as my bible. I taught myself calculus by candlelight during the gunfire that happened outside the pvc wall I called home. 💔

At 16, I had no background in physics, but I pretended I did by getting into a university lab (shhhh), cleaning labs and lying about my age, and getting professors where I could be near reactors. As it turns out, fusion isn't the only thing hot. 😉 . But the fire I was made of was rage. Every time I heard that, "you don't belong here," it pushed me even more.

And now? I'm a fusion energy wildcard, wearing leather jackets to conferences and swearing in peer reviews. (Look, academic elites, I love the haters.) My research? Taking radioactive waste and recycling it into clean energy bling. 💎✨ I'm not just talking about saving the planet, I'm doing it, while reminding everyone of the villainess in a cyberpunk anime. Dark-academic-dystopian-chic. 🖤
