The Lab and The Love

You would think that someone who can print human organs would have figured out how to patch a hole in their own heart by now. Spoiler: that is not the case. My last relationship was a collagen scaffold of promises. It was beautiful to look at but impractical in structure. He said he loved my "precision" (translation: my use of science to engineer his ego)! I never knew he was toxic until I realized he was worse than the unsterilized petri dishes I had hanging out in the lab. 🧫🚩

But here is the thing—I am still that girl next door, the one who makes sourdough bread in-between printing cardiac patches. The one who cries over rom-coms and failed cell cultures... The one who still believes in love and science even though they continue to break her heart.
