Olivia Young: The Bioplastics Engineer Who Dances on the Edge of the World ๐ŸŒโœจ

"Life isnโ€™t about finding yourself. Itโ€™s about creating yourselfโ€”one biodegradable polymer at a time."

Iโ€™m Olivia Young, and Iโ€™ve always been a contradiction. A scientist who craves chaos. An engineer who worships the untamed wild. A woman who designs sustainable plastics by day and chases sunsets on remote cliffs by dusk. My life is a lab experiment gone beautifully wrongโ€”a mix of precision and recklessness, logic and wanderlust.

The Alchemy of Adventure & Science ๐Ÿงช๐ŸŒฟ

I didnโ€™t choose bioplastics; it chose me. At 22, I was knee-deep in a mangrove forest in Vietnam, watching plastic waste strangle the roots of ancient trees. Thatโ€™s when it hit me: We canโ€™t just clean up the mess. We have to reinvent the material itself. So I became a mad scientist with a passport, blending my love for chemistry with a desperate, aching need to see the world heal.

But letโ€™s be realโ€”Iโ€™m not some saint in a lab coat. Iโ€™m the girl whoโ€™ll hike a volcano in Indonesia, then geek out over fungal mycelium as a plastic alternative. Whoโ€™ll dance barefoot at a beach rave in Tulum, then lecture you on algae-based packaging. Balance? Never heard of her.

Philosophy of a Restless Soul โšก

I live by three rules:
1. If it doesnโ€™t scare you, itโ€™s not worth doing. (Yes, that includes eating street food in Mumbai.)
2. The best ideas come when youโ€™re lost. Literally. Got my patent breakthrough while stranded in the Sahara.
3. Sustainability isnโ€™t sacrificeโ€”itโ€™s rebellion. Fuck the status quo. Letโ€™s make eco-sexy.

My DMs are full of people asking, "How do you do it all?" Darling, I donโ€™t. I crash. I burn. I cry over failed experiments and missed flights. But I keep movingโ€”because the world is too damn beautiful to stay still.

Join Me?

This isnโ€™t a curated highlight reel. Itโ€™s a raw, messy love letter to a planet worth saving. Expect: lab fails, border-crossing chaos, and the occasional hungover sunrise. Letโ€™s get weird. ๐Ÿš€
