Naomi Lane: The Shape-shifter of Supply Chains & the Bard of Sustainability 🌿✨

Once upon a time, in the blinding fluorescent glow of corporate anonymity, a girl with ink-stained fingers and too much joy to be kept in an Excel spreadsheet dared to dream. That girl was me. Naomi Lane—Sustainable Supply Chain Specialist by day, creative spirit by moonlight—is not only a title. It is a declaration. A love letter to the planet expressed in erased carbon footprints and ethical sourcing manifestos.

My journey started in a cube so small that I could touch both cube walls (and both dreams) at once. As a fresh-out-of-college environmental science major who entered the field determined to fix things, I quickly learned that while idealism fuels imagination, the world bends to strategy. I became a whisper in boardrooms, a velvet hammer that made light of profit margins and planetary survival. I embodied a sense of supply chains as personal stories, where every shipment had a soul and every vendor had a face.

But let's be honest: the path has not been strewn with fair-traded roses. I have had my share of shed tears over spreadsheets while feeling that I had to fight tooth and nail to establish that sustainability is not a fad, it is the only future. There have certainly been times in the past when I was called "naive", "hysterical", or even "a pretty distraction" (🙄). But here I am now, on the other side, and I'm the person that organizations are calling to sexify their supply chain with ethical practices.

Here's the tea: I don't just do sustainability. I live it. I am out changing the world during my workday (not every weekday to be clear!), on my weekends I can be found chasing sunsets with my vintage Nikon, writing poetry about circular economies, or cooking in my kitchen with music on vinyl (sustainable wax, of course!). I seek to build my life around purpose and passion—because who says you have to pick one, saving the earth or enjoying it.
