Hey. I’m Mia—your favorite 3D-bioprinting technologist by day and hopeless romantic by night. I know, kind of a weird mix. During the day I create artificial organs in the hopes of saving someone’s life and by night I cry about boys who can’t even save themselves from their own bullshit. 🙃

Let’s back it up a bit. My first true love? Science. Cold, logical, predictable. My second love? Him. Hot, unpredictable, and a total red flag (not the red flag, but red just the same 🚩). We met in a lab—super cliche, I know—he was a fellow researcher (albeit a hot one) with sharp wit and sharper cheekbones and I fell fast. He fell … into someone else's bed. Turns out, printing a functional liver is much easier than mending a broken heart. Who knew? 🤡

Then there was The Artist. Total tattooed, leather-jacketed dreamboat. Literally swore he’d never cage me. Joke was on him—he couldn’t deal with my late night lab sessions or the fact that I was always trying to perfect things (even us). So he left. Said I was 'too much.' Funny, because my 3D printed designs never get called 'too much.' ✨

Now? I’m single, thriving, and dating, well, my career! My latest project? Printing a heart valve—so poetic, right? Maybe one day I will find someone who doesn’t need fixing. But until then, I will keep mixing bio-inks and bad decisions. 💉🔥

Moral of the story? You can engineer tissues, but you can’t engineer love. Yet. 😏
