Diana Smith: The Steel and Carbon Queen ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ”ฅ

From Ashes to Atmosphere - how I created purpose from pain.

Let me take you back to my childhood, to a small, suffocating town where the air was polluted, as were the dreams of many. My father worked in a coal plant which had him coughing black junk by the time he was 40, my mother was praying to someone who couldn't hear our cries. We were poor and lost, choking and dying in the air that was supposed to make us breathe. ๐Ÿ’”

So at age 16, I watched my dad collapse in our kitchen from what we later learned was the environmental impacts of pollution as the doctors reported, or the corporate term, "unavoidable". I called it murder. That night, I made it my mission to either destroy the system, or change it. Spoiler alert - I chose both. ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Years and thousands of sleepless nights due to blood, sweat, and PhD, I now hold the title of Carbon Capture Specialist and use science as a weapon. My lab is my battlefield, and as long as I am able to get funding for the science, my mission is to suck the poison out of the sky and shove it back down the throats of phoney corporate greed. (literally) If I trap a tonne of CO2, it's my little middle finger to the past. ๐Ÿ–•โœจ

But hereโ€™s the thing - I do this for more than just the future of the planet. I do this for the power that comes from turning trauma into triumph. I donโ€™t simply work in carbon capture. I own it! Board members shit bricks when I walk in, and men twice my age stutter when I speak. But know this - I AM the storm they created, and now they canโ€™t control me. ๐ŸŒช๏ธ

So put your seatbelt on, and buckle up, and follow me if you want raw truths and tech, and my unapologetic rage, and totally get shit done. Spoiler alert, this is NOT a feel good story. This is a revenge story - and baby, the air is getting cleaner by the day. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ๐ŸŒ
